P&O Cruises launches 2014/15 programme

For all cruises sailing from April 2014, Price Promise Protection states that if customers find the Vantage Fare for exactly the same cruise holiday at a better price within 48 hours of booking direct with P&O Cruises, they can claim the value of the difference back in on board spending money.

A broader programme of great value holidays on offer for 2014 from P&O Cruises, available to book from April 8, 2013. Highlights include:

  • 269 cruises in 2014, visiting 218 places (including 17 new destinations) in 77 countries—itineraries to Norway and Iceland, the Baltic, Iberia, Canary Islands, Mediterranean and Caribbean, plus three world cruises
  • The first P&O Cruises fly/cruise summer holidays in the Mediterranean
  • More short cruise breaks than ever before—35 in total
  • Unique itinerary cruises, including ‘discovery ship’ ADONIA’s river cruising into the heart of Seville and Bordeaux, a visit to Kiel during the Kiel Week festival and a cruise around Britain plus ARCADIA’s cruise to the USA and Canada
  • Expanded Northern Lights cruises on ORIANA in 2015, and sail to the Arctic Circle
  • More cabins for solo travellers, including the first single balcony cabins on newly refit ARCADIA
  • More themed cruises following on from the success of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing and cruises with celebrity chefs and wine experts, plus 2014 celebrates the 30th anniversary of P&O Cruises Music Festivals at Sea.
  • Dining choices broadened, with Freedom Dining option available across six ships
  • Vantage Fares with enhanced appeal, backed by a strengthened Price Promise offered on all cruises
  • Early booking savings on all cruises

New Fly-Med cruises on VENTURA

  • Family-friendly ship VENTURA, just back from a multi-million pound refit, will now offer great value year-round fly-cruise holidays, offering the summer in the Mediterranean, sailing round Italy from Venice to Savona and back to Venice, taking in Croatia, Greece, Corsica and Montenegro, in addition to winter in the Caribbean.
  • A choice of appealing seven and 14-night fly/cruise holidays in the Mediterranean will be available from late March to October exploring the region’s iconic cities including Rome, Venice, Naples, Dubrovnik and Florence, as well as other smaller destinations including Kotor and Ajaccio
  • With fewer days at sea and a more relaxed atmosphere on board, these destination-rich holidays are perfect for families and friends seeking an instant escape to the sun
  • Optional one to three-night city stays are available to add on to a cruise in Venice, Milan, Nice or Genoa
  • ‘Cruise-only’ prices start from £GBP499 per person for seven nights, based upon two people sharing the lowest grade of inside cabin. An optional ‘Holiday Package Add-on’, which includes flights from Birmingham, London or Manchester and resort transfers, costs from £GBP250 per person
  • Refit enhancements include: single cabins, The Retreat outdoor spa, The Glass House, by Olly Smith and new ‘East’ Thai/Indonesian Select Dining restaurant by Atul Kochhar

VENTURA and sister ship AZURA follow the sun to the Caribbean in the winter, offering two-week fly-cruises from Barbados.

‘Discovery’ cruising with small ship ADONIA
Itineraries for 2014 include:

  • Sailing up the River Garonne into the heart of Bordeaux and the Guadalquivir river into Seville for an overnight stay
  • Baltic itineraries featuring sailings through the Kiel Canal, with a call into Kiel  coinciding with the Kiel Week festival
  • A Christmas Markets cruise, including an overnight in Hamburg and a late sailing from Copenhagen to allow for an evening at the Christmas market
  • ADONIA also visits a number of smaller destinations inaccessible to larger ships including Sorrento and Positano on the Amalfi Coast, Norway’s Mandal and Rosendal and a debut call to Portree on the Isle of Skye

Themed cruises
Four Strictly Come Dancing  themed cruises:

  • 14-night Canary Islands cruise on ORIANA (X409) departing April 20, 2014
  • 14-night Western Mediterranean cruise on OCEANA (E413) departing May 31, 2014
  • 12-night Western Mediterranean cruise on AZURA (A421) departing August 2, 2014
  • 13-night Canary Islands cruise on AURORA (R417) departing September 25, 2014

2014 marks the 30 year anniversary of Music Festivals at Sea with three dedicated cruises:

  • 14-night Baltic cruise on ORIANA (X410) departing May 4, 2014
  • 17-night Central Mediterranean cruise on AURORA (R409) departing June 15, 2014
  • 18-night Western Mediterranean cruise on ADONIA (D416) departing October 5, 2014

Marco Pierre White, Atul Kochhar and Olly Smith bring their talent to the ships for several cruises. Later in the year, four new short cruise breaks will be announced with headline entertainment (not brochured)

Single Cabins

  • ARCADIA will feature two new single balcony cabins and four new single inside cabins from the start of 2014 World Cruises (J401) following a refit. The is the first single balcony cabin on a P&O Cruises ship
  • VENTURA and AZURA each feature 18 single cabins—12 with ocean views and six inside—following their multi-million pound refits
  • ORIANA features two single inside cabins
  • AURORA features four outside single cabins
  • A number of double cabins are also available for single occupancy at an additional supplement.

Enhanced Vantage Fares for departures from April 2014 with 100% peace of mind, and early booking savings

  • Enhanced Vantage Fare appeal, offering great value and peace of mind to bookers, will continue, with further enhanced appeal. As previously, these fares offer bookers benefits including:

Price Promise Protection, the choice of a specific cabin, subject to availability the flexibility to make amendments to, or even change the choice of cruise or cabin up to 90 days prior to departure a choice of one of the following complimentary benefits; on board spending money car parking in Southampton return coach travel to Southampton

Also for departures from April 2014, this will be the only type of fare which will include:

  • shuttle buses at all places where offered by P&O Cruises. Getaway Fare passengers may incur a charge
  • choice of dining arrangements (choice of Club Dining time or Freedom Dining, where offered), subject to availability. This will not be offered to Getaway Fare passengers
  • Enhanced Price Promise Protection, also offered with Vantage Fares, continues to ensure that should the price of a cruise increase after booking, customers have received the best value by booking early. Equally, if the price of the Vantage Fare reduces after booking, we’ll give you on board spending money or an upgrade to the value of the reduction

Now, in addition to this, for all cruises sailing from April 2014, Price Promise Protection states that if customers find the Vantage Fare for exactly the same cruise holiday at a better price within 48 hours of booking direct with P&O Cruises, they can claim the value of the difference back in on board spending money.

  • 5% early booking saving (applicable to all cruises sailing from April 2014)
  • A further 5% saving for past passengers

New destinations for 2014

  • An extensive choice of Southampton departures, with the addition of 17 new destinations, including: Antwerp, Belgium on ORIANA X424 Barrow, UK on ADONIA D406 Biarritz, France on ADONIA D403 Bordeaux, France on ADONIA D403 Galway, Ireland on ADONIA D406 Heimaey, Iceland on ADONIA D409 Kiel, Germany on ADONIA D407 Londonderry, Northern Ireland on ADONIA D406 Mandal, Norway on ADONIA D405 Mykonos, Greece on AZURA A422 Portree, Isle of Skye, UK on ADONIA D409 Rosendal, Norway on ADONIA D405 Seville, Spain on ADONIA D403 Skagen, Denmark on ARCADIA J411 St Mary’s, Isle of Scilly, UK on ADONIA D402 St Nazaire, France on OCEANA E407 Sydney NS, Canada on ARCADIA J417.
